Harnessing a Strong Cybersecurity Culture

We’re dedicated to keeping our systems, data, network and all aspects of cybersecurity here at Tamshell secure, using modern and hardened firewalls both on and off premises. Following the NIST 800-171 and CMMC frameworks, we employ 24/7 monitoring and closed circuit video recording for physical security at our shop and offices.

Importantly, we train and monitor our users to ensure they’re using all the best practices provided to them while performing penetration testing across the board to find and fix any weak spots and vulnerabilities. We have a modern, always-on cybersecurity toolbox that keeps every endpoint and networked device safe from attacks, breaches, malware, ransomware, viruses and more.

When hardware and software runs any risk of obsolescence or can no longer be used safely while attached to our systems, we replace or remove them from accessing any assets that store CUI and other sensitive data.

Vendor & Third-Party Risk

Vendors must meet a certain cybersecurity criteria in order to do business with Tamshell. We evaluate their ability to handle sensitive data and ensure they’re compliant with baseline standards and practices. They must know that handling sensitive data both in-transit and at-rest is important and necessary to work with us.

When we take on new software, systems, applications and hardware it is imperative to us that those integrate safely and receive regular security patches and updates as to not supply more risk of potential attacks and intrusion. We do not use any type of software or services which originate from countries or developers that are known for high or unknown risk factors.

Working Toward a Zero-Trust, Least Privilege Standard

Access to sensitive data whether it’s on-premises or offsite should only be accessible to those who need it and are properly trained to handle such data. Our internal policies are always shifting with the tides of emerging threats and the best practices that develop around them.

The principles of least privilege is something we’re implementing into our access controls as we continue to grow our team and vendor database. Employing zero-trust controls throughout data access and availability is another aspect of our shifting cybersecurity landscape that is important to us and our customers.

Tamshell specializes in producing a diverse array of custom precision machined components tailored to our customers’ specifications. Utilizing modern, advanced 4th & 5th axis CNC mills, CNC Swiss and Swiss-screw, and CNC turning machines, we achieve tight tolerances with nearly any machinable plastic or metal material.

What’s on the shop floor?

Our primary machining department utilizes state-of-the-art CNC machining equipment to ensure precision and quality. The secondary department complements this with a variety of conventional tools and instruments. All our machinery is backed by our specialized in-house tooling department, ensuring seamless support and efficiency.

What tolerances can Tamshell hold?

We excel in close tolerance machining, holding tolerances as tight as +/- 0.0001″. Our capabilities include advanced 4th- and 5th-axis machining, complemented by a rigorous three-stage inspection process. This ensures burr-free parts and consistently exceeds the highest-quality finish requirements.

Does Tamshell offer manufacturing, material and other advice during the design phase of the project?

In short: yes, our team brings extensive expertise in the manufacturability of components and assemblies. As specialists in plastics machining, our in-house material experts will guide you in selecting the most optimal materials for your application, considering all usage factors.
Our skilled machinists are also proficient in working with various materials, including metals. We can review your 3D models and drawings, recommending any necessary changes before production begins.
